Cooking in My Time at Sandrock is the process of creating consumable items that can be eaten by the player to grant them beneficial status effects or gifted to other characters.
Two types of crafting stations can be used for cooking: the Drying Rack produces simple items like Jerky, dried fish or fruit and cooking stations for more advanced cooking is done.
The Apprentice Cooking Station or its upgraded model, Chef's Cooking Station, allows the player to mix up to five ingredients to create food. The Apprentice model has two of the four possible cooking methods in the game, the Chef's version adds a third, and a fourth is planned for a future upgrade.

The cooking recipes can be obtained through experimenting or purchased from Owen or Mabel. The recipes that require a Cooking Pot or a Steamer can be cooked with an Apprentice Cooking Station, and the Wok recipes can only be made with Chef's Cooking Station.
Each item cooked on any cooking station grants the player 10 experience points.
