“ | Qi is an accomplished scientist from Vega 5. He has always focused on research and as such, his social skills can be found lacking. He likes to drink tea as a pick-me-up, although sometimes he will forego sustenance for long periods of time to finish his projects. | „ |
— In-game bio |
Director Qi is a Sandrock resident and one of the potential marriage candidates. He is the local researcher and strongly dedicated to his occupation.
Profile[]
Personal summary[]
Qi is not keen on private conversations, instead primarily interested in things pertaining to his work.[1] He prefers to be undisturbed but can over-explain the workings of technology. From Vega 5, Qi came to Sandrock to seek something known as the Olympia. He is a large fan of robots and old cartoons, though he does his best to hide this fact. He grew up with Mint, a character from My Time at Portia and they maintain a strong friendship despite the distance between them.
Social network[]
Qi does not have a social network with other characters. However, he is close friends with Mint.
Relationship[]
Qi is one of the potential bachelors that can be befriended and romanced.[2][1] The player can confess their love to him with a Heart Knot.
Perks[]
Gifts to the player[]
Qi has a chance to give the player a gift on their birthday when the player reaches Buddy level with him. If more than one possible gift is listed, only one randomly chosen gift will be given.
Qi will also send an engagement gift the next day after the player successfully proposes to him. For the engagement gift, all items listed are given.

Social interactions[]
Chat[]
Chat is a basic social interaction available at any relationship level. Chatting with Qi once a day can increase his relationship by 1 point; subsequent chatting, on the same day, only results in the same conversation without any relationship gain.
Qi's dialogue may change every day and every season. Qi may also comment about certain events or missions. Higher relationship levels, including romantic involvement, also change Qi's dialogue.
Gift[]
- You can give Qi one gift each day. Repeating the same gift on consecutive days will reduce its impact (Loved gifts become Liked; Liked become Neutral; no change for others).
- All giftable items have a base point value. The 'Special neutrals' section in the table shows neutral items with higher rewards than their base value.
- High quality gifts may give extra relationship points, based on their sell price.
- Gifts on Qi's birthday are worth three times more, and twice as much during festival activities, boosting the value of Desires too.
- It is possible to present 2 birthday gifts: one after midnight and another one after waking up in the morning.
Desires[]
Desires are gifts Qi has a chance to ask the player for. The player has to be at least associates with Qi in order for him to be assigned a desire.
If Qi has a desire, gifting the wanted item will give the higher tier points; otherwise the item gives the base point value. The item's quality is taken into account when fulfilling a desire; gifting Qi a higher quality item will yield more relationship points.
Play[]
Once the player has become buddies with Qi, they can schedule a play date together. Qi can participate in all playdate activities, including playing Whac-A-Mole.
Research[]
- Main article: Research Center
